ATVing in the Kiamichi Mountains

My son, Kyler and I rode with six other guys from the church this past weekend. We had a great time. Rode up to Talimena Drive where there was heavy fog. Rode Saturday afternoon in the rain.

Quad Ride in SE Oklahoma

Just got back from riding 4-wheelers with Brad Hanselman in the Kiamichi Mountains. We rode 88 miles of trails and old logging roads in about a 24 hour period. Here’s a picture of Brad in the old Kiamichi Fire Tower.

Yes, this is Oklahoma at about 2,500 feet elevation

A couple of observations I made while riding:
1. God’s creativity has no limits. This is beautiful country and it reminds me to acknowledge God as creator and sustainer.
2. I, on the other hand, do have limits. I need to rest regularly. This was relaxing for me. We need to learn to observe the sabbath without feeling guilty about it.
3. This would be a great place to get a group of guys together. I enjoyed the fellowship with Brad and we’re already planning another trip sometime in October. If you have an ATV and are interested in joining us, leave me a comment, email me, or catch one of us to get on our group list.
