Lifehouse “Everything”

You’ve probably already seen one of the dramatizations done to Lifehouse’s “Everything.” It’s made its way though the email channels. Cedar Ridge youth performed their own version, backed by our own Rob Wagner and band, in our services a couple of weeks ago and it recently was posted on Youtube.

Traveling to Cincinnati

I’m in Cincinnati this week for a series of meetings with the North American Christian Convention. I’m serving on the Continuation Committee of the NACC whose main task is to help in the planning of future conventions. This morning we attended chapel on the campus of Cincinnati Christian University. Cam Huxford, 2008 NACC President, preached on the next NACC theme of Living Dangerously. Hopefully CCU will put the mp3 on their website soon so you can hear it. It will get you excited about “going hard” after the Lord. I’ll keep checking on the sermon podcast. And, no I didn’t make the Bengal’s Monday night football game. I was only two blocks from the stadium, so I dealt with all the traffic, but none of the fun.

The Road to Recovery

We’re getting a great response to our current series, The Road to Recovery. Sunday I talked about step three which is – Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ’s care and control. We talked about the things that keep us from taking this step: Pride, guilt, fear, worry, and doubt.

Maybe one of the most profound things we talked about Sunday is that when you take the step of inviting God and his purposes into your life, it simply means God now gets a presence in your life. It doesn’t mean everything in life now goes perfect. It doesn’t mean you suddenly get your act together. It just means that you’ve let God in. He’s got a beachhead. And the rest of your life He’s going to be working on you; little by little by little. The Christian life is a decision followed by a process.

By the way, if you want to see a preview version of the video we showed Sunday, you can see it here.
